Poland was the last place Martin Schiller ever wanted to see again. But yielding to the persistent requests of his son Marc, he agreed to return to his boyhood home and the places of his imprisonment from 1942-1945.
Early in the trip, Martin and Marc begin to experience a gap between their expectations of Poland and the reality they encounter. We watch as father and son travel parallel paths; scaling the fences that both contain us personally and separate us from others.
In the end, both Martin and Marc learn the possibility of new perspectives in the most unlikely of places.
